Este estudio versa sobre las diferentes imágenes de la cultura china reflejadas en la literatura francesa de los siglos XVIII y XX (Voltaire, Montesquieu, André Malraux) y en la nueva sinología francesa (François Jullien). Se describen e ilustran los conceptos de heterotopía y de transvaloración, así como su función y su valor heurístico.

The purpose of this essay is to analyze the diverse images of Chinese culture reflected by 18th and 20th Centuries French literature (Voltaire, Montesquieu and André Malraux), as well as by the contemporary French sinology. Concepts of heterotopy and transvaluation are described together with their functions and their heuristic values.
