    Este estudio intenta reflexionar sobre la imagen pictórica y literaria del escritor romántico para plantear algunos rasgos de la estética iconográfica del siglo XIX. Una mezcla de rebeldía, defensa del yo personal, valentía y serenidad desvelan los entrañables retratos que pintores como Federico de Madrazo, A.M." Esquivel, Gutiérrez de la Vega o Vicente López realizaron a los literatos del momento: Zorrilla, Larra, Rivas o Espronceda.

    La conexión entre pintor y escritor en cuanto a ideas, ambiente, ocio o trabajo favorece en esos momentos el nexo entre arte y literatura. Así, pasión, libertad, angustia, amor o ternura se unen tanto en el autor literario como en el especialista de la imagen pictórica.

    This study fries to think about the literary and pictorial image of the Romantic writer to establish some features ofthe 19th Century iconographic aesthetics.

    The intimate portraits that painters like Federico de Madrazo, A.M..f Esquivel, Gutiérrez de la Vega or Vicente López made of writers of the moment like Zorrilla, Larra, Rivas or Espronceda reveal a combination of rebellion, signs of personal self, courage and serenity.

    The relationship between painter and writer relating to ideas, environment, leisure or work helps to establish the link between literature and art. Thus, passion, freedom, anguist, lave or tenderness are combined together either in the writer or the painter.
