    Nació, Estat... Estat plurinacional [ARTUR JUNCOSAI L'any de la celebració del 75è aniversari d'Unió Democràtica ha estat també un any que es recordanà per grans discussions i debats sobre el reconeixement de la realitat nacional de Catalunya, a propòsit del nou text estatutari. Arabe, en aquest debat en què ha participat el conjunt de l'Estat, tothom ha parlat de la mateixa realitat utilitzant les mateixes paraules? Amb preguntes retòriques com aquesta comença l'autor la seva exposició, tot recordant d'entrada les clares diferències entre els termes nació i estat, i introduint conceptes més politics com el de l'estat plurinacional. L'article aprofita aquestes debats politics més conjunturals per fer una exposició històrica de primer ordre sobre la consideració que aquests termes, o d'altres com el de sobirania o autodeterminació, han tingut al llarg deis temps, especialment en l'Europa occidental. Algunes de les concepcions desenvolupades, com aquelles que identifiquen l'Estat com l'expressiò i única organització politica d'una sola nació, permeten també altres interpretacions i punts de vista, com els que es troben en intel.lectuals que han tingut una influència recent en el pensament politic del nostre país, com podrien ser Jacques Maritain o Caries Cardò. Tot plegat es desenvolupat al llarg del text, amb nombroses referències històriques i identificacions possibles amb la nostra realitat.

    Nation, State... Multinational State [ARTUR JUNCOSA] The year of the celebration of the 75th anniversary of Unió Democràtica will also be remembered for the great discussions and debates on the recognition of the national reality of Catalonia, through the new text of the statute. However, in this debate, in which the State overall has participated, has everyone really been talking about the same reality using the same words? The author commences his exposition with such rhetorical questions, reminding us at the outset of the clear differences between the terms nation and state, and introducing more political concepts such as the multinational state. The article leverages these current political debates to provide a first-order historical overview of the consideration afforded to these terms, or others such as sovereignty or self-determination, over time, particularly in western Europe. Some of the concepts developed, such as those that identify the State as the expression and sole political organisation of a single nation, also permit other interpretations and points of view, such as those held by intellectuals that have had a recent influence in and on the political thought of our country, such as Jacques Maritain or Caries Cardó. These issues are all developed in the article, with numerous historical references and possible identifications with our reality.
