    La trajectòria de CiU (1978-2006): de coalició de partits a partit indirecte? [ASTRID BARRIO] Convergència Democràtica de Catalunya (CDC) i Unió Democràtica de Catalunya (UDC) van decidir, al setembre de l'any 1978, coordinar les seves actuacions en els marcs electoral, parlamentan i governamental, tot creant una de les marques més duradores i efectives en el marc politic català i estatal: Convergência i Unió. El que primer fou pensat com una coaliciò electoral anà creixent i reforçant-se, abastant també l'àmbit parlamentan i, a partir de 1980, l'àmbit governamental. Durant els quasi trenta anys de vida d'aquesta aventura politica, CiU ha jugat un paper central a Catalunya, i també tot sovint al conjunt de l'Estat. La bona tasca desenvolupada no ha evitat, però, l'apariciò d'algunes tensions que han acabat provocant la seva pròpia transformaciò en una federació de partits o "partit indirecte", constituint el que l'autora considera "l'exemple d'un èxit en política". Malgrat la pèrdua del Govern de la Generalitat i la retirada del seu líder indiscutible, Jordi Pujol, la fórmula adoptada ha fet possible una integraciò més estreta dels dos partits, compatible amb el manteniment de la sobirania de totes dues formations i garantint-ne la seva continuïtat.

    The evolution of CiU (1978-2006): from part' coalition to indirect party? [ ASTRID BARRIO] Convergência Democràtica de Catalunya (CDC) and Unió Democràtica de Catalunya (UDC) decided, in September 1978, to coordinate their actions in the electoral, parliamentary and governmental scenarios, creating one of the longest-lasting and effective marks in the Catalan and state political framework: Convergência i Unió. What was first intended as an electoral coalition gradually grew and became stronger, also reaching the parliamentary area and, as of 1980, the governmental scenario. In almost thirty years of political adventure, CiU has played a central role in Catalonia, and also very often in the State overall. However, its good work could not prevent the emergence of certain tensions that led it to become a federation of parties or an "indirect party", constituting what the author regards as "the example of success in politics": despite the loss of the Government of the Autonomous Government of Catalonia and the withdrawal of its undisputed leader, Jordi Pujol, the formula adopted has made a closer integration of both parties possible, compatible with the maintenance of the sovereignty of both, guaranteeing their continuity.
