    The Unió Democrática de Catalunya during Francoism (1939-1976) [ ORIOL OLIVÉ] It is a well-known fact that the Unió Democràtica was, in June 1976, the first Catalan political party to formally hold a Congress after the Civil War. What is perhaps not so well known are the difficulties the Christian Democrat party encountered to reach this point, after the so-called law of political responsibility, enacted in February 1939, included it in the list of forbidden and condemned political parties and organisations. Exiles, arrests, suffering and immense difficulties mined the path of the Historic Catalan nationalist party until it reached, spiritually strong and politically alive, the beginning of the Transition. These long forty years are reviewed in the article, in which the author expounds the most outstanding facts and events amid the anti-Francoist activity, and how new members joined the party, many of them young people from the generations that had not lived through the war. The maintenance of international relations with other like parties all over the world, the doubts on the strategies to be followed at some point, or the effort to keep media operating to disseminate the party's ideas are also dealt with in the article.

    Unió Democrática de Catalunya durant el franquisme (1939-1976) [ ORIOL 0111/. 8] És conegut que Unió Democrática fou, el juny de 1976, el primer partit politic català que celebrà formalment un Congrés després de la Guerra Civil. El que potser ja no es tan conegut són les dificultats que patí el partit democratacristià per arribar fins aquest punt, després que la coneguda com a Llei de responsabilitats politiques, promulgada el febrer de 1939, l'inclogués a la llista de partits i organitzacions politiques prohibides i condemnades. Exilis, detencions, patiments i immenses dificultats minaren el camí de l'històric partit catalanista fins arribar, espiritualment fort i politicament viu, al principi de la Transició. Aquests llargs quaranta anys són repassats en l'article, en quê l'autor exposa el fets més destacables enmig de l'activisme antifranquista i l'apropament al partit de nous membres, molts d'ells joves de les generacions que no visqueren la guerra. El manteniment de les relacions internacionals amb altres partits homòlegs arreu del món, els dubtes sobre les estratègies a seguir en algun moment o l'esforç per mantenir operatius els mitjans per difondre les idees del partit, són alguns altres dels aspectes que es tracten en el text.
