En el presente artículo se hace una breve revisión teórica de la Terapia Integral de Pareja (Jacobsan y Christensen, 1996). Se describe la terapia y se recagen las estudias de eficacia publicados hasta la fecha. La TIP supone la evolución de la Terapia de Pareja Conductual Tradicional (Jacobson y Margolin, 1979), incorporo un componente de aceptación emocional y no se centro tanto en el cambio de conducto, lo que la adscribe a las terapias de tercera generación. Los estudios indican que es un tratamiento diferente a la TPCT y que los mecanismos de cambio subyacentes la hacen mós adecuada para tratar los problemas de pareja.

In the present article we made a brief theoretical revision of Integrative Behavioral Couple Therapy (Jacobson y Christensen, 1996). A description of the therapy is put forward, as well as the up to date published studies of effectiveness.
The IBCT represent the evolution of Traditional Behavioral Couple Therapy (Jacobson y Margolin, 1979) adding a component of emotional acceptance and it is not compromised with behavioral change itself; all of these characteristics attached it to Third Wave of Behavioral Therapies. The studies suggested that it is a different treatment of TBCT and that the underlying mechanisms of change show it more adequate for treating couple problems.
