Resumen de Las Juntas de defensa de las clases de tropa (1917 - 1918)

Este artículo trata sobre las Juntas de Defensa de Suboficiales, Brigadas y Sargentos, en el reinado de Alfonso XIII. Estas Clases de Tropa —que imitaban lo que habían iniciado sus oficiales— pretendían su dignificación profesional y social. No obstante, las autoridades civiles y militares suprimieron sus juntas, temiendo que adoptasen fines subversivos. Basándome en documentos tanto propios como oficiales, demuestro, en cambio, que estas organizaciones sindicalistas entre los grados inferiores del Ejército español no fueron soviets.

This article deals with the Defence Juntas of non-cominissioned officers, warrant officers and sergeants, during the reign of Alfonso XIII. These ranks —who imitated what their superior officers had initiated— aspired to improve their professional and social dignity. Nevertheless, the civil and military authorities suppressed their juntas for fear that they could pursue subversive goals. Instead —on the basis of the Juntas’ own documents andofficial ones— 1 conclude that these union organizations witliin the lower ranks of the Spanish Anny were not soviets.
