    Considero las continuidades y las rupturas en las Baleares tardo-romanas desde dos ángulos, el religioso y el del dominio político. La implantación del cristianismo, suplantando el judaísmo, supone la uniformidad religiosa de cuño teodosiano. Con sus consecuencias morales, litúrgicas, artísticas, y la nueva simbología, las Baleares quedaron modeladas hasta la conquista musulmana del siglo X. Las ocupaciones vándala y bizantina no modificaron internamente las islas. Su alcance está en que las desgajaron de la Hispania peninsular, lo cual retardó en dos siglos la conquista musulmana.

    I consider the continuities and the ruptures in the Balearic Islands in the later Roman times from two angles: religion and political domain. The implementation of Christianity, that supplanted Judaism, means the religious uniformity of theodosian sign. With their moral, liturgical, artistic consequences and the new simbology, the Balearic Islands remained modeling until the Moslem conquest of the10th century. The vandal and bizantine conquest didn’t modify the internal structure of the Islands. Their relevance is that they separated the Islands from the peninsular Hispania, which delayed the Moslem conquest two centuries.
