A sondage was initiated with the aim of assessing the archaeological contents of the cave. Movements of earth are evident in the first levels with a fragment of a brooch or clasp, coins and turned pottery. Below this there is an archaeologically sterile level of very compacted earth. Then comes another, with abundant hand-fashioned pottery. At a fourth layer there is an empty and broken cist which breaks through the level where the bell-shaped pottery appears. The final (to date) excavated level indicates, given its physical appearance and chemical composition, an ancient animal fold from the Calcolithic period.
