The comprehensive restoration of the San Salvador de Gerediaga Hermitage and surrounding area has enabled the entire paved square to be documented and a number of sondages to be carried out inside the building. As regards the sondages, we should highlight the sterility of the levels documented inside Hermitage, where no evidence was found of any former habitation or constructions.
As regards the paved square, we should point out that stratigraphically, it is made up of two superimposed squares, the first dating from the 17th century and the second from the 19th century. The former contains a certain technical and aesthetic interest, while the second is of scarce note.
