    Literatura i transcendència [IGNASI BOADA] Si el cinema, la pintura o la música són sistemes expressius de la modernitat, la novel.la no ho és menys. Tot i això, la novella no sempre ha rebut el tracte de ser un subjecte viu que reflecteix l'esperit del moment i la cosmovisió histórica i personal del seu autor i del seu moment històric. Ignasi Boada, Dr. en filosofia i professor a la Facultat de Filosofia de la Universitat de Barcelona, recupera, en aquest article, la novella com a subjecte viu que, sense pensar en una visió antropològica radical, posa el punt de mira en la concepció de l'home.

    Per tal d'avaluar la concepció de l'home en l'autocomprensió del subjecte modern, és a dir en la seva vessant de llibertat, autonomia, afirmació de la pròpia voluntat o espontaneïtat, el Dr. Boada analitza quatre novel.les de la literatura universal: Don Quijote de Cervantes, Le rouge et le noir de Stendhal, Madame Bovary de Flaubert i Memòries del subsòl de Dostoievski. Aquestes obres ajuden a clarificar els mecanismes que, en darrer terme, intervenen en la configuració i en la determinació de la voluntat del subjecte lliure. Alhora que permetran de comprendre de quina manera l'afirmació de la sobirania d'aquest subjecte, que diu haver-se alliberat de les tuteles de les époques pre-modernes, és més problemàtic del que en principi podria semblar.

    Literature and transcendence [IGNASI BOADA] If the cinema, painting or music are systems that express modernity, then the novel is no different. Nevertheless, the novel has not always been treated as a live subject that reflects the spirit of the moment and the historic and personal world-view of its author and its historic moment. In this article, Ignasi Boada, Dr. in Philosophy and lecturer of the Faculty of Philosophy of the University of Barcelona, recovers the novel as a live subject which, and without adopting a radical anthropological vision, sets its sights on the conception of man.

    To be able to evaluate the conception of man In the self-understanding of the modern subject, i.e. in his the facets of freedom, autonomy, assertion of one's own will and spontaneity, Dr. Boada analyses four novels from universal literature: Don Quijote by Cervantes, Le rouge et le noir by Stendhal, Madame Bovary by Flaubert and Notes from the Underground by Dostoevsky. These works make it possible to clarify the mechanisms which ultimately intervene in the configuration and in the determination of the will of the free subject. They will make it possible to understand how this assertion of the sovereignty of this subject who claims to have freed himself of the shackles of pre-modern epochs is more problematic than it would initially seem.
