    La Renda Básica i la llibertat com a no-dominació [DANIEL RAVENTÓS] La Renda Bàsica és un ingrés pagat per l'Estat a cada membre de pie dret de la societat, fins i tot si no vol treballar de forma remunerada, sense prendre en consideració si és ric o pobre o, dit d'una altra forma, independentment de quines puguin ser les altres possibles fonts de renda que pugui tenir, i sense importar amb qui convisqui. L'ideari normatiu republicà gira al voltant de l'afirmació de la llibertat com a no-dominació, entesa aquesta com la que gaudeix una persona quan viu en presència d'altres persones i, en virtut d'un determinat disseny social i institucional, cap d'elles compta amb la possibilitat d'interferir de forma arbitrària en les decisions que la primera pugui prendre. És per aixó que el republicanisme afavoreix tots aquells mecanismes institucionais que poden dotar la ciutadania de seguretat material i económica, una seguretat que faci reals les llibertats formals i que permeti als individus resistir i superar aquelles situacions de dominació. La Renda Bàsica és un instrument molt valuós pels esmentats objectius republicans. Perquè una condició de plenitud ciutadana és la garantia universal i incondicionada del dret a l'existència que estableix la Renda Bàsica.

    The Basic Income and freedom as non-domination [DANIEL RAVENTÓS] The Basic Income is a State-paid income to each member of society, even when they do not wish to take paid work, regardless of whether the person is poor or rich, or to put it another way, regardless of other sources of income they may have and of whom they live with. Standard Republican ideology revolves around the assertion of freedom as non-domination, understood as that which is enjoyed by a person when he lives in the presence of other people, and by virtue of a given social and institutional design none of them can interfere arbitrarily in the decision the former may take. This is why Republicanism favours institutional mechanisms that can afford citizens material and economic security, one which makes formal freedoms real and enables individuals to face up to and overcome positions of domination. The Basic Income is a very valuable instrument with regard to the aforementioned Republican objectives, because one condition of full citizenship is the universal and unconditional guarantee of the right to existence which is established by the Basic Income.
