  • The 2002 season concluded the fieldwork carried out both inside and in the area surrounding San Andrés de Astigarribia. In the year 2003, we will conclude the project by means of archaeological test trenches. Among the results of the 2002 season, we should mention the discovery, in chronological order, of: remains of recent restoration work to the church, a plot division in the surrounding area, a child’s grave from the modern era under the eaves, the remains of a number of mid-medieval graves located inside the building during 2001 and a late medieval grave in a coffin with sword and belt clasp, possibly related to the earlier burials carried out inside the church.
