The Etxegarate dolmen is located in the pass that bears the same name, at one end of a small flat area along a crest which marks the watershed between the Cantabrian and Mediterranean basins. During this second season, the area excavated the previous year was expanded and most efforts were focused on removing the thick surface layer that covers the mound. The few material remains uncovered enabled experts to confirm that this burial mound was used for a long period of time, stretching from the Neolithic to the Bronze Age.
