The Urezberoetako Kanposantu Zaharra site is located in the Elkano district of Aia. The enclave consists of an east-west slope located 295 metres above sea level. The objective of this second season was to analyse the site in more depth and to confirm the levels of habitation estimated during the 2001 season, along with the various pieces of evidence uncovered. The excavation work focused on two areas and was carried out in accordance with the stratigraphic method. From the different recognised stratigraphic zones, two varieties of pottery remains were uncovered, one corresponding to common unturned pottery from the Roman era and the other characteristic of protohistoric times. Metal and stone remains were also found, along with evidence of man-made adjustments to the terrain, which support the findings of the previous season.
