Within the framework of the new Iruña-Veleia III. Milenioa project, the 1st comprehensive study was carried out of the so-called «Domus de Pompeia Valentina», in an attempt to chart its chronological-stratigraphic evolution and interpret the function of its various rooms and environment. This Veleia urban residence, dating from Roman times, was built during the Flavian era in a commercial area of the city on the site of a previous residence dating from the middle of the first century AD. Although some of the foundations of this first domus were reused, the majority were simply discarded, as evident in the first pre-Flavian cistern, which was filled in to lay the foundations for a new precinct in the east zone.
