  • The work carried out during the last two seasons focused mainly on presenting the site. T o this end, the Bizkaia Provincial Government’s Department of Culture has taken two important steps: firstly, it has purchased the two plots in which the site is located; and secondly, its has improved site security, erecting a fence around the perimeter and closing and diverting the forest track which runs through the middle of the site on the northern side. These two steps were followed by the process of identifying and delimiting the perimeter of the site. Imported material is mainly limestone, a rock not usually found on this particular mountain, a fact which if necessar y, will enable experts to distinguish the cover soil level during the work at hand.

    Research has mainly focused on two aspects: the small square between the lobes and the repair , restoration and consolidation of the ruins of the N lobe.
