  • Resumen
    • Field work carried out has uncovered a long cultural histor y starting in late glacial period and continuing throughout the Holocene epoch, with the central areas occupied by diverse Mesolithic and Neolithic phases. The results of the C-14 analysis coincide with the industrial assessments (laminar Mesolithic, denticulate Mesolithic, geometric Mesolithic, old Neolithic and advanced funerary phase), and there is evidence to suggest that the cave was used uninterruptedly for more than four thousand years. As such, Atxoste is one of the most valuable deposits in the Ebro Basin, where in addition to the usual discoveries of domestic utensils, several architectural structures (for both combustion and inhabitation) have also been found.
