  • Resumen
    • Interest Intermediation in the European Union [JUSTIN GREENWOOD] Actions by private and public interests in civil society are acknowledged in most accounts of European integration. The centrality of interests to this accounts of integration means that the study of interest intermediation in the UE is much more than a simply pursuit left to enthusiasts. This article deals with the problems of interests intermediation in the EU and, by analysing the institutional framework and rational incentives of the different actors involved in such intermediation, explains why the lack of governability of the largest segment of EU associations presents serious questions for accounts of the integration process that place significant emphasis upon their relationship with the European institutions to explain the development of the EU.
