Kosova: The lessons not learned in Bosnia [RAÜL ROMEVA] One of the characteristics of the Culture of Peace is that it can not be imposed. In other words, neither the bombs nor the humanitarian assistance can bring the Culture of Peace to Yugoslavia. Thus, having in mind the few attention that the international community is paying to the real causes of conflicts, and the few resources that are being invested in conflict prevention, in promotion of a culture of peace, and in rebuilding economically and socially the societies that have suffered a war, specially compared to the enormous amounts of money that are being spent every year in concept of military expenditures, I'm afraid that this will not be the last time that we will face the debate between being in favour or against an international military intervention. However, we must be aware of the fact that this will never be a sustainable solution. Kosova, as it was Croatia, and moreover Bosnia, before, a new example of how important is to analyse the roots of the war, and of the urgency of studying and promoting new ways of managing international conflicts using basically the tools provided by the Culture of Peace.
