Catalonia: from the cultural nationalism to the political nationalism [JOSEP MARIA PUIGJANER] Although this is a subject the media usually talk about, one would say that a considerable percentage of the population is still far from feeling as a member of a Catalonian national project for the future. Up to now, politicians have not been able to formulate clearly -and if they have, their formulation has not affected the society- an attractive project. However, if we have said that in the people, as a group of citizens, there is not enough conscience of a cultural identity, we must also state that it cannot be noticed enough conscience to activate a process in order to get the plenitude of the collective political personality When this popular conscience is strong enough, that inner sovereignty, the sovereignty whose spirit the culture gives us, will be able to get its own crystallisation in the field of the politics, which is that of the sovereignty - total or restricted - which is seen in the exterior and which is the object of the acceptation and respect by the other nations.
