  • Resumen
    • This article deals with the novelties set up by the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) to promote a change of international trade rules. First, we evidence the role given to trade as a driver of economic development and to eliminate poverty. Second, we systematize the remaining issues in international negotiations intended to achieve progress towards a commercial framework conducive to development; among them we underline issues concerning market access, trade in services, intellectual property, trade preferences formulas and new barriers to trade. Finally the main developments and controversial issues in the final negotiations within the World Trade Organization are analyzed.
