Antonio Marzal [SALVADOR GINER] In the notes, the author refers to the lively relationship, one of friendship, full of ironic conversations, that he had with the esteemed Professor Antonio Marzal, who, in the course of his work, both as an academic and a journalist, always spurred us on to be original thinkers, to question everything that existed, the noncontroversial. He was not one for speeches, but when he spoke people listened. On the other hand, his democratic and civic vision of human affairs was remarkable, and this made him a lone voice for industrial working-man's progress. The author concludes by drawing attention to the human and intellectual achievements of Professor Antonio Marzal, embodied in the attainment of freedom of spirit, heterodoxy and discomfort, without ever losing his faith or contradicting it.
