  • In spite of being the two most omnipresent social phenomena of the twentieth century, there has never been a point of convergence between soccer and cinema. No film can transmit the emotion that brings thousands of spectators worldwide into the soccer stadiums. The crux of the problem has to do with time: film language is unable to convey to the screen the effect produced by watching live soccer. Thus, filmmakers look for alternatives using stories that deal with soccer themes.
