    At the presence of the sacred images of the Virgin Mary and Our Lord, the believing people moves to talk with God and listen to Him.

    The author proposes some ways in order to understand the dense theological burden manifested at the sight of the sacred images.

    Starting from the liturgical gnosis of Romano Guardini and gathering the character of the religious image as a plastic art¿s synthesis and its hierophanic value, comes into the analytic proposal of Saint Thomas. Connected with the whole developed subject reaches some conclusions concerning the different aspects of the life of a believer in Christ.

    At the end, and taking into account the search lately done, presents the opening of a reflexive new thought in order to the liturgical and pastoral matters.
