Resumen de El patrimonio musical de la Biblioteca de la ONCE

La presente comunicación pretende acercar al estudioso de la musicología y al investigador en general a una biblioteca, desconocida para la gran mayoría, por tratarse de una institución adscrita a una entidad de derecho público que acoge bajo su seno a todas las personas ciegas y discapacitadas visuales de nuestro país, además de otras con distintas minusvalías que también están apoyadas por la misma organización. La Biblioteca musical de la ONCE cuenta con un interesante fondo documental de variada tipología. También son reseñables las diferentes transcripciones que se han hecho en distintas épocas de la historia reciente, así como el criterio del centro de transcripción vigente en cada momento. Así pues encontramos fondo musical en los sistemas de Abreu (sistema musicográfico único y genuino de España), Braille, Sonoro y también Tinta. Otro aspecto remarcable son los usuarios de esta singular Biblioteca: estudiantes de música y profesionales. La ONCE, a través de esta biblioteca musical y de todas las otras con las que cuenta, asiste bibliográfica y musicalmente a todos sus afiliados, esto es, personas ciegas o con discapacidad visual. Se trata por tanto de una biblioteca especial dirigida a un público muy concreto.

The following report is to inform all musicology students and investigators in general of the existence of a very important Library unknown to almost everybody, even though it belongs to a public institution, that caters for all blind and visually impaired persons in our country, in addition to others suffering different degrees of disability, who are also aided by the same Institute. The ONCE Music Library offers an interesting and varied collection. The different transcriptions that have been made during different epochs of our recent history are also worth mentioning, as is the criteria adopted by the centre to keeping such matters up to date. The Library contains music archives using the Abreu system (a unique music graphic system peculiar to Spain) along with Braille, Sound and Ink systems. One other remarkable thing concerns the public who make use of such a singular Library: music students and professional musicians. Through this Music Library, and all the others it has, the ONCE aids all its affiliates, both musically and bibliographically, that is to say, those blind persons and others who are visually impaired. It is, therefore, a very special Library to cater for the needs of a very special public.
