La música en el Archivo Capitular de Oviedo (E: OV): una (re)catalogación

    Los fondos del Archivo Capitular de Oviedo (identificado como E: OV, por su sigla RISM) han sido estudiados bajo diferentes enfoques por investigadores de campos diversos, como historia, arte, literatura, paleografía, diplomática, codicología, etc… Es un archivo de enorme riqueza, que atesora importantísimos documentos en pergamino, incunables y códices, y series documentales en papel. Y también contiene fondos musicales, con un repertorio que abarca compositores muy variados desde el siglo XVI, y que se ha conservado tanto en libros de facistol como en partitura y partes sueltas, música «a papeles». Desde finales del siglo XIX se han realizado diversos trabajos sobre la música en E: OV: catalogación —y en ocasiones, publicación— de fuentes primarias, y contextualización de dichas fuentes utilizando la abundante documentación histórica del Archivo. El propósito de estas páginas es presentar mi trabajo con los fondos musicales de E: OV desde 1997: una profunda revisión de los catálogos de música existentes, su corrección, y la descripción y catalogación de materiales musicales que no habían sido estudiados aún, y que modifican y completan significativamente la descripción y ordenación de los fondos musicales del Archivo Capitular.

    The contents of the Chapter Archives in Oviedo (identified by the letters E: OV, for its code RISM) have been studied under different lenses by investigators from different fields, such as history, art, literature, paleography, diplomatic, codicology etc. It is an archive full of riches which houses very important documents in parchment, incunabula and codexes, and documental series on paper. It also contains musical records, with a repertory that includes various composers from the XVI century, and that have been preserved as lectern books, full scores and single sheets, music "in sheets". Since the end of the XIX century diverse studies of the music in E. OV: have been carried out: catalogued and on occasions, initial sources have been published, and contextualization of the said sources using the abundant historical documentation available in the archive. The object of this report is to present the work I have been doing on those musical records in the E: OV: since the year 1977: a profound reexamination of the existing musical catalogues, their rectification and the description and cataloguing of musical materials that had not yet been assessed, and that modify and complete in a significant manner the description and compilation of the musical records in the Chapter Archive.
