  • Resumen
    • The figure of Yanguas y Miranda, from Tudela, goes beyond the pure local boundary. A historian by profession in the century of History, his personality covers to a great extent, the intellectual life of Navarre in the first half of the 19th century. But, his work was not in the shadow. With deep liberal convictions , Yanguas is a necessary referent for the intelligence of the crisis of Navarres ancient regime, linked in a particular way to the process of institutional transformation from kingdom to province. From his post as a Secretary of the Regional Government (Diputación de Navarra), Yanguass influence is found behind the principal moments that lead to the 1841s law, a clear translation in Navarre of the synthesis between revolution and tradition defined by the European romantic liberal horizon of 1830. Yanguas, as an exponent of the prolific alliance between History and Politics, can be acknowledged without any difficulty as the Guizot of Navarre.
