Resumen de Vico y Sarmiento: un caso para el tema de las influencias

Sarmiento y la Generación del ¿37 no fueron viquianos, pero realizaron una obra histórica y civilizadora acorde con los ideales de Vico, que vivió y pensó en un contexto muy diferente. El tema de la influencia de Vico en Sarmiento es algo a debatir, lo cual requiere una depuración metodológica y una explicitación teórica de las posibles conexiones. Las cuestiones que solicitan el presente estudio remiten a la pregunta sobre esa posible influencia en el pensador argentino: si hay objetivamente en la obra de Sarmiento tesis cercanas a las principales de Vico; y qué conexión subjetiva pudo existir, son dos líneas que se indagan en este estudio.

Sarmiento and the ¿37 Generation were not Vichians, but thay carried out a historic and civilizing piece of work, in accord with the ideals of Vico, who lived and thought in a very different context. The influence of Vico on Sarmiento is a matter of debate, and requires a methodological purification and the theoretical clarification of possible connections. The issues that demand this present study refer to the possibility of such an influence on the Argentine thinker. The two lines pursued in this study are: if there are indeed, objectively, theses parallel to the principles of Vico in the work of Sarmiento; and what subjective connection could have existed.
