The existence of many marine abrasional forms, with their different heights and grades of certainty, is described in the coastline comprise between Maro (Málaga province) and Castell de Ferro (Granada province). The heights vary between the present sea level till near 100 m. These values are comparable to others existing in more western andalusian coasts. Up till now there are not direct data to establish a chronology in the study area, but in any case the heights of these marine forms are clearly attributable to the eustatic oscilations, more that to the tectonics, which, for recent times, have much more lesser values of vertical displacements.
