Resumen de Los trabajadores agrícolas marroquíes de El Ejido: De la invisibilidad a la toma de conciencia de sí mismos

  Este artículo trata de contribuir a la comprensión del proceso que ha generado los últimos sucesos en El Ejido. Sobre todo busca situar el fenómeno de la violencia étnica en un contexto sociológico marcado por la explotación del trabajo de los asalariados agrícolas (predominantemente marroquíes) en la agricultura intensiva española. Expone igualmente la vivencia de la inmigración, la precariedad de sus condiciones de existencia y las relaciones conflictivas entre obreros españoles e inmigrantes. La inmigración marroquí en la agricultura ha permanecido invisible durante mucho tiempo. Este silencio no puede perdurar por el hecho que esconde un verdadero problema social relativo a la desestructuración provocada por la situación migratoria y las nuevas reivindicaciones para mejorar condiciones de vida y trabajo. La intervención del Estado, de la sociedad civil y de los diferentes actores sociales, económicos y políticos puede reposicionar el debate sobre cuestiones centrales relativas al "querer vivir juntos" en la dignidad y el respeto al otro, lejos de las pasiones y los identitarismos que conducen al racismo.

  The purpose of this article is to contribute to the understanding of the process which triggered the recent incidents in El Ejido (Spain). Above all, this article tries to keep the ethnic violence phenomenon within a sociological context characterized by the work exploitation of the farmer workers (most of them are Moroccans) in the Spanish intensive agriculture. It also shows the immigration experience, the deprivation in which they live and the problematic relationship between the Spanish workers and the immigrants. The Moroccan immigration in the field of agriculture has been invisible for a long time. This silence cannot remain because under it there is a social problem related to the morpholysis caused by the immigration situation and the new demands that claim for better life and work conditions. The intervention of the State, the civil society and the different social actors can replace the debate on the main issues. These issues are related to a community life with dignity and respect and it is placed far from the racism caused by passions and identities.
