  • The basic mission of the Basque Goverment is to improve the present and future standards of living and welfare of the inhabitants of the Basque Autonomy Community. As state in Article 2 of the General Environmental Protection Act, stregthening the defense and improving the quality of the environment in the contex of sustainable development forms an important part of that mission. To that end, the Basque Government Departament of Land Use, Housing and Environment plans to promote the Environmental Framework Programme as a tool for bringing together all areas of administrative authority, to pursue the Goals of the General Act and therefore the ultimate mission of the Basque Government in this matter
