Resumen de El problema del reciclado de vehículos

Manuel Kindelan Barañano

  • This article goes through some of the implications that the recent publication of Directive 2000 / 53 regarding End of Life Vehicles wiil have on their management and treatment. It focuses on the implementation of the Directive in Spain and in the Spanish situation. The main point analysed are: creation of Authorized Treatment Facilities, implementation of the certificate of destruction, increase of reuse recycle and recovery targets in the near future, cost-free take back, limitation of heavy metals on the cars, monitoring of the targets by each EU member. All these aspects will have an important impact on the different agents involved in the management and treatment of ELVs and will bring huge improvements on the actual situation. Maybe the most urgent measure is the creation of Authorized Treatment Facilities that comply with some technical and environmental requirements that will ensure the proper depollution of the cars as a first step
