    En el presente artículo pretendemos estudiar la economía vegetal de la sociedad que habitó en el asentamiento de Las Pilas (Mojácar, Almería) durante el período calcolítico (c. 2700-1800 a.C.) a través del análisis de los restos de semillas y frutos que han perdurado en el registro arqueológico. Los principales temas que hemos abordado los hemos estructurado en cuatro grandes bloques. El primero se refiere a la presentación de la metodología utilizada en la recogida y el tratamiento de las muestras carpológicas. El segundo a la determinación de las plantas utilizadas en Las Pilas y la búsqueda de paralelos en otros yacimientos de la región. El tercero se vincula a la caracterización de la agricultura, la recolección y la dieta vegetal. Para finalizar presentamos las estructuras relacionadas con la manipulación de productos vegetales: estructuras de combustión, de almacenaje, etc.

    In this article we study the vegetal economy of the human group who lived at the site of Las Pilas(Mojácar, Almería) during the Copper Age (c. 2700-1800 a.C.) through the analysis of the archeological seedsand fruits. Our study is divided into four main parts. First, we present the methodology applied for the samplingand treatment of the carpological remains. In the second part we identify the plants that were used in Las Pilasand we search for parallels in other sites of the region. In the third we explain the characteristics of the agricul-ture, harvesting and vegetal diet of Las Pilas’ society. Finally, we introduce the archaeological structures rela-ted to the manipulation of vegetal products (fireplaces, store-pits, and others) found on the site.
