  Del yacimiento madrileño de Camino de las Cárcavas procede un fragmento cerámico decorado con una figura antropomorfa incisa, fechable en el siglo VIII a.C. Esta pieza, que refleja una clara ruptura iconográfica con el mundo de "Cogotas I" del final de la Edad del Bronce, se relacionaría en última instancia -al igual que otros elementos peninsulares cerámicos, metálicos, pétreos y ebúrneos- con la difusión del estilo geométrico por gran parte de Europa Central y el Mediterráneo en el paso del II al I milenio a.C., así como con los primeros intentos de representación figurada que tendrán su apogeo en el Período Orientalizante.

  The antropomorphic representation on a vessel from Camino de las Cárcavas in Aranjuez (Madrid), dated from the VIII century b.C., reflects the break-up of the Late Bronze Age pottery tradition. This piece is also related -together with another ceramic, metallic, stone and ivory elements- to the arrival of the geometric style to Central Europe and the Mediterranean area at the end of the II and the beginning of the I millenium b.C., and can be considered a first attempt at figurative representation, prelude to which has been called "Orientalizing" Period.
