Algunos poemas contenidos en la Antolgía Latina y fechados sin duda en época vándala se refieren a diversos tipos de espectáculos públicos que tenían lugar en Cartago, y tal vez en otros lugares del Reino Vándalo, en el primer tercio del siglo VI. En ellos se refleja no sólo la continuidad de estas tradicionales manifestaciones del ocio ciudadano y de la participación del pueblo en las actividades recreativas comunes sino el interés de los nuevos gobernantes en conservar unos usos y costumbres que podían proporcionarles popularidad y la simpatía de sus subditos.

Some of the poems preserved in the Latin Anthology, belonging to the Vandal period, refer to various tipes of public events and games that took place in Carthage and maybe in another places within the Vandal kingdom during the first thfrd of the VI centuiy. They reflect the continuity of traditional practices of civic leisure and the participation of the people in public amusements as well as the concern of the new rulers for preservíng those habits that could please their subjects and bring them popularíty.
