El autor nos introduce en la reflexión de cuestiones sobre la dignidad humana desde la defensa hecha por los grupos marginados frente a la ideología dominante, desde los planteamientos de la igualdad entre los hombres, y desde la construcción de los derechos humanos en la modernidad y su carácter de derechos históricos, como resultado de la relación dialéctica entre necesidad y poder. Esta dimensión es de ayuda para comprender el alcance y las limitaciones de la doctrina y de la práctica de los derechos humanos y extraer algunas consideraciones respecto a su antigüedad , a lo endeble de su estatuto y la dificultad de ser garantizados, especialmente a nivel internacional. La distancia entre la realidad y la norma reclama la búsqueda de nuevos consensos e interpela también a la Universidad para que constituya espacios de pensamiento libre y planteamientos que alcancen los derechos humanos como exigencia de vida y organización socio-política permanentes y revisables.

The author encourage us to reflect about human dignity questions from the defence made by marginal groups against the dominant ideology, from the grounds of quality among men and construction of human rights in the modern times and its character of historical rights ars result of the dialectic relation between need and power. This dimension helps to understand the reach and limitations of the doctine and the practice of human rights and extract some considerations in relation to the ambiguity , to the weakness of its statute and the difficulty to be guaranteed, specially on an intenational basis. The distance between reality and norm claim the serach of new argreements and appeal also to the Univesity in such a way that it promotes spaces of free thinking and structures that reach the human rights as a must for life and socio-politic permanent and revisable organisation.
