This paper traces the thematic and aesthetic lines that went into the construction of À propos de Nice, only to resurface in later productions. The films mentioned follow in the footsteps of Vigo’s film in one or other of its particular traits. Noteworthy among these are the radiography of space and classes, the condemnation of social injustice and its violence, its syntactic and paratactic construction and its placement outside the abstract commercial circuit
