Anestesia y lentes intraoculares fáquicas

    Introducción: presentamos la técnica anestésica que utilizamos en la actualidad para la cirugía con lentes intraoculares fáquicas (ICL), con máxima colaboración por parte del paciente y mínimos efectos secundarios.

    Material y Método: Se han intervenido 12 pacientes, edades de 22 a 38 años, siendo 9 mujeres y 3 hombres.Todas las cirugías se realizaron de modo bilateral (mismo acto quirúrgico). Consiste en administrar la combinación adecuada de Ondacetron 4 mg, Fentanilo (60-100 microgramos), Midazolam (2 a 4 mg) y Propofol (40-80 mg).

    Discusión: Consideramos que de ésta forma se evitan toda la sintomatología derivada de la anestesia general.

    Conclusión: La anestesia tópica con sedación controlada, sin intubación ni mascarilla laríngea, parece ser, en nuestra experiencia, la técnica anestésica de elección. Falta realizar un estudio mas amplio

    Introduction: We present the anesthesia technique that we are using for phakic intraocular lenses (IOL) for which the patient¿s collaboration is required. Minimum side-effects are obtained.

    Materials and method: 12 patients (9 women and 3 men) aged between 22 and 38 have been operated. All surgical treatments have been bilateral. Our method consists of the appropriate combination of Ondacetron (4 mg), Fentanile (60-100 mg), Midazolam (2-4 mg) and Propofol (40-80 mg).

    Discussion: We consider that by using this method we avoid the side-effects of general anesthesia.

    Conclusions: We consider that topical anesthesia with controlled sedation, using no intubation nor larynx max, is the best decision. Notwithstanding, further studies should be accomplished.
