    Hoy en día sigue existiendo una importante discusión sobre el método teórico que se debe aplicar en la imagología comparada dentro del marco de la teoría de la literatura. El presente trabajo tiene como finalidad ofrecer una serie de conceptos sobre imagología útil para investigaciones sistemáticas de imágenes (aquí: imagotipos) en un texto literario. Estimamos que en ello se demuestra la posible relación existente entre los aspectos formales y de contenido en obras literarias en lo concerniente a la compleja problemática de los imagotipos.     Nowadays we are still having an important discussion about the theory that should be applied to the studies of imagology. This article offers concepts about imagology that can be useful for systematic investigations of images (here: imagotypes) inside a literary text. We estimate that this article shows the possible relationship between formal aspects and its practical use in literary works concerning the difficult study of imagotypes. In this way it is possible to reduce the gulf between the theory of imagology and its practical application which still exists in the majority of imagological works published nowadays.
