Resumen de Comercio y política en la Antigüedad: tres epígrafes de Delos con relación al Egipto ptolemaico

A través de tres inscripciones honoríficas halladas en la isla de Delos, correspondientes al último cuarto del s. II a.C., puede constatarse la relación entre comercio y política en la Antigüedad. En este caso concreto, entre los comerciantes itálicos instalados en Delos y Alejandría, la capital de Egipto. Asimismo, la utilización de diferentes tipos de fuentes permite reconstruir la captura de esta ciudad por el rey Ptolomeo VIII Evergetes (127/126 a.C.).

Through three honorary inscriptions found in the island of Delos, corresponding to the last quarter of the second century B.C., the relationship can be verified between trade and politics in the Antiquity. In this concrete case, among the Italic merchants installed in Delos and Alexandria, the capital of Egypt. Also, the use of different types of sources allows to reconstruct the episode of the capture of this city for the king Ptolemy VIII Euergetes (127/126 B.C.).
