La imagen corporal en adolescentes mujeres: su valor predictivo en trastornos alimentarios

    Se evaluó la asociación entre trastornos alimentarios con la insatisfacción de la imagen corporal. Se analizó una muestra de mujeres argentinas sin diagnósticomédico de trastornos alimentarios (n= 120). Se aplicaron loscuestionarios EDI-2 y BSQ. La muestra quedó conformada por dos grupos: 12 a 14 años (n= 60) y 18 a 20 años (n= 60). El análisis de los resultados mostró una correlación positiva entre la insatisfacción con la imagen corporal y aspectos de los trastornos alimentarios, no encontrándose diferencias entre ambos grupos. Los resultados obtenidos indican el valor predictivo de la insatisfacción con la imagen corporal en relación a la presencia de alteraciones alimentarias.

    The association was evaluated among eating disorders with the dissatisfaction of the corporal image. A sample of adolescent women was analysed, without medical diagnosis of eating disorders (n= 120), being divide the same one in two groups: 12 to 14 years (n=60) and 18 to 20 (n = 60). The Inventory of Alimentary Disorders was applied (EDI-2) of Garner & Olmstead (1984) and the Questionnaire Corporal Outline (BSQ) of Cooper (1987) to the two obtained samples. The subescalas of the first inventory was analysed with the variable corporal outline in each one of the groups as well as the values intergrupales obtained in each one of the variables. The analysis of the results showed that the dissatisfaction with the corporal image and the tendency to lose weight is distinctive aspects of the eating disorders, in both groups of adolescents. The obtained results indicated the value predictive of the dissatisfaction with the corporal image in relation to the presence of alimentary alterations.
