El reto de internacionalización empresarial en el entorno europeo

    En el imparable proceso de internacionalización empresarial, el "entomo europeo" es un condicionante clave. La empresa no puede abstraerse de la realidad que significa el Mercado Unico Europeo y sus "cuatro libertades", la Política Común de Competencia, la Unión Monetaria Europea, y las diferentes iniciativas de armonización de la legislación empresarial.

    Los esfuerzos para reforzar la estabilidad macroeconómica a través del Pacto de Estabilidad y Crecimiento, y para incrementar la competencia en los sectores más intervenidos que propone la Estrategia de Lisboa son, también, cuestiones relevantes en este "entorno europeo".

    En todo caso, y a pesar de la crisis que atraviesa Europa, derivada de los "noes" francés y holandés a la Constitución europea y del fracaso de las negociaciones presupuestarias, la Unión Europea se encuentra inmersa en pleno debate sobre el futuro de este modelo económico. Este deberá ser capaz de combinar y equilibrar los criterios de competencia y libre mercado, y también, los valores más sociales que históricamente han caracterizado a nuestro continente.

    The European Environment is a determining factor in the unstoppable process of business internationalisation. Enterprise cannot ignore the implications of the European Single Market and its four freedoms, namely the Community Competition Policy, the European Monetary Union and all the other initiatives to harmonise company law. Efforts aimed at reinforcing macroeconomic stability through the Stability and Growth Pact and at increasing competition in regulated sectors as envisaged in the Lisbon Strategy are also relevant issues in this European Environment. In any event, and despite Europe's current crisis resulting from the rejection of the European Constitution in France and Holland and from the failure in the budget negotiations, the European Union is deeply immersed in a debate on the future of this economic model, which should combine and balance the criteria of competition and free market, and also all of the social values that have historically characterised our continent.
