Resumen de Estudio de la Alexetimia en la Artritis Reumatoide

  Reumatoide Desde que Nemiah y Sifneos (1973) describieron la alexetimia, se han utilizado distintas escalas para su evaluación, siendo la Toronto Alexetimia Scale, (TAS) de Taylor (1985) la más utilizada. En esta Escala una puntuación igual o superior a 74 identifica a los alexetímicos.

  Objetivo y Método: Se han estudiado con TAS a 30 enfermos de Artritis Reumatoide y a 37 controles sanos, realizando un análisis de la varianza y un análisis factorial de los 4 factores que distingue Bagby (1985) en esta escala.

  Resultados: La media de los enfermos ha sido de 71,3 frente a 58,1 de los controles. Diferencia significativa al p 0,05. El 40% de los enfermos sobrepasaba los 74 puntos. El análisis factorial da 23.4 en el factor F2, que indica la incapacidad de distinguir entre sentimientos y sensaciones, lo que debe ser tenido en cuenta en la anamnesis.

  Consideramos que la TAS es una escala sensible y útil para detectar enfermos psicosomáticos

  Since Nemiah and Sifneus (1973) described the Alexithymia, several sacies have been used for its evaluation. The most used is the Toronto Alexithymia Scale (TAS) of Taylor (1985). In this scale a scoring equal or higherof 74 identify people with alexithymia.

  Objetive and Method: We have studied 30 patients with rheumatoid arthritis and 37 healthy control with the TAS, doing an analysis of variance and factorial analysis of the four factors that Bugby (1985) distinguishes in the scale.

  Results- The mean ot the patients has been 71,3 and the mean of the controls 58,1.

  Siqnificant difference at 0,05. The 40% of the patients surpass 74 points. The factorial análisis is 23 4 in the F2 factor that indicates the incapacity of distinguishing between feelingsand sensations, which is important in the anamnesis. We consider the TAS as a sensitive and useful scale to detect psychosomatic patients.
