Resumen de Miró, 'collage', cine

Alfonso Puyal Sanz

  • The article considers two moments in the work of Joan Miró.

The first deals with the elements of fragmentation and montage in his painting and collages of the 20s and 30s—elements which foreshadow film language. The second deals with the script Miró wrote for a documentary about himself, which was to be filmed by Pere Portabella in the 70s. It is concluded that while Miró did not explicitly incorporate film into his creative process, his work was highly influenced by what the new era of film was offering to abstract the plastic arts.
