  • Resumen
    • This article compares Un chien Andolou with L’age d’Or in terms of how they show differing notions of surrealism. Late 1928 and 1929 documents of Dalí and Buñuel show that Dalí played a key role in the devolopment of Un chien Andolou and in Buñuel’s later connections to surrealist art. While Dalí became gradually fascinated with the oneiric, irrational discourse of surrealism, as was already the case with the painter Joan Miró, Buñuel remained on the outskirts of the Breton group.

However, Buñuel would write that Un Chien Andolou would not have been created without surrealism, nor would it have come abstract to light without Dalí’s collaboration.
