  • The first part of the article proposes an approach to Pier Paolo Pasolini –a “global” film director not only in terms of his film work but also because of his unique theoretical perspectives (such as in his collected essays Empirismo Eretico).

    Thus, a strictly cinematic approach seemed insufficient to fully reconstitute the complexity of this intellectual concerned with the question of his day.Therefore, in the second part, the essay provides an insightful and unconventional analysis of Pasolini’s work on modern times. Finally, the author introduces the collection of articles included in this issue which take varying abstract approaches to the study of this eclectic thinker
