Resumen de Narciso ante el espejo y el Libro desdoblado: Sobre la nuova gioventù de Pasolini

María de las Nieves Muñiz Muñiz

  • Shortly before he died, Pasolini completely rewrote his first book—the collection of poetry written in Friuli (Italy) in 1954 titled La meglio gioventù (a popularized variant of what, in correct Italian, would be La migliore gioventù meaning “the best youth”).The rewritten version was published by Einaudi in 1975 under a slightly modified title—La nuova gioventù— and included a prologue which described the book as “a body inside a body.” The asymmetric antithesis better/new and the problem of the split serves as the point of departure for the study which looks at the textual variations from an ample perspective: the crisis of Pasolini’s notion of time and its poetic-ideological imabstract plications (the concept of art, imagery, cosmogony).
