  • The script by Juan Ignacio Luca de Tena dealing with the Spanish Civil War is a clear example of how the Alcázar of Toledo quickly became a principle theme for Franco regime propaganda. In the script, written during war and conceived as pro-Franco propaganda, the siege of the Alcázar takes up one third of the whole. The article analyzes the perspective given of the coup d’état, as well as the possible causes that prevented abstract the film from being completed.
