  • Resumen
    • One of the most important myths elaborated by the Franco regime is how Franco troops defended and later “liberated” the Alcázar of Toledo from the Republicans. Painters such as Josep Maria Sert, Ignacio Zuloaga, Carlos Sáenz de Tejada, Domingo Viladomat, etc. helped construct this myth. In order to “sacrilize” the palace, the Franco regime also created architectural projects connected to the monument of “The abstract Fallen” and to the “aesthetics of ruins.”
